Good Luck in your new Home Card

Hi, thanks for stopping by today. I have a card to show you today. It is a "Moving House" card.

I used an A4 sheet of white card and cut it down to fit the Teal Cardstock (DCWV) that I had left over.

I embossed the teal cardstock using a Couture Creations Swiss dots embossing folder.
In the corners I used a crop-o-dile corner chomper.

On the bottom edge I used a Spellbinders A2 Bracket Border die.
Above which I used some teal ribbon, pearls and a Carl punch to make the flowers adding some liquid pearls in their centres.

I used a Sizzix fancy frame bigz die with a centre piece "New Home" that I created on my computer.

I had the key in my stash as well as the little tag which I added the number of the new house onto.

Inside I added the branch from the bird branch bigz die and some more Carl punch flowers with white liquid pearls.

The little sentiment is something i found on the web which I coloured with a little distress stain.

Here are most of the ingredients I used to make this card:

I hope you enjoyed your quick trip to my blog today. Thanks again for stopping by.

A Bird House for Tiffany's Birthday

Hi everyone, I hope this blog finds you well. I promised to let you see the project that I made for Tiffany's birthday - also a Bird House, but a very different style. Again HUGE thanks to Laura Denison for the idea and Inspiration.

Here it is. A Wonderful Bird House. Made using chipboard and covered in Graphic 45 Secret Garden Papers.

I have heaps of photos to show you as well as a couple of videos.

Again, the little peg at the front was made by a local carpenter who is very skilled on the lathe, he made a few for me.

I took a few pictures of the outside of the Bird House to give you an idea of how I decorated it. These purple flowers were taken from a very cheap artificial flower that I found at Spotlight which looks much better once it is broken apart.

You get a great view of the fabulous G45 paper here. The pink flowers I made using quilling techniques, the Orange large flower was a Petaloo pack where you can make flowers from a small kit.

I used an old whale of a punch flower and some Spellbinders Foliage leaves, and the Anemone Flower Topper die S5-067.

I photographed four of the five tags that go inside the bird house. There is a huge amount of "real estate" for photos. These fold in half and slot inside the house.

Another of the tags shown open.

I used some of the spare pieces of paper I have in my stash.

I used a mixture of flowers that I made and others that were shop bought. Organza ribbon added a nice touch to each of the tags.

Another view of the bird House. The fence I made using Lollipop sticks which I painted white using Kaisercraft white paint. I also added a little more chipboard across the sticks which I glued to the Lollipop sticks to keep them in place.

Here are the videos I also said I would show you: The first is a brief introduction and the second is longer and shows more detail.

A Bird House for Marley's Birthday

Hello. It's been ages I know. I have been putting my energies into getting my new knee replacement working. It's been 5 weeks exactly since I had the operation and despite a slip up in the shower (i feinted and had to be taken by ambulance to hospital - very exciting now but wasn't so much at the time!!!) a week after the operation all is going well. The physiotherapist is working it well so I will be ready for the next one due to happen on 4th December!

In the meantime and most recently we had a long bank holiday weekend which ended on October 7th and Tiffany , Jim and our two grandchildren came to stay. The weather was glorious and the weekend went too fast. I did however manage to give both Tiffany and Marley an early Birthday gift. Today I'll share Marley's and I'll show you Tiffany's at another time.

Here it is. A Bird House. I am so grateful to Laura Denison for the inspiration and design. It was such fun to make and I think the results were great. The roof flaps lift and inside is a photo album. I'll show you later how I decorated it.

Here's the Photo album that goes inside the little house.

The BLUE Page
This is the first page, each one has room for two small tags, a large tag that goes in the pocket that you can pull out, as well as the space on the back of the page.

The ORANGE Page
The second page, I used al sorts of scarps of paper as well as American Crafts - Dear Lizzy - Lucky Charm.

The PINK page
It was a lot of fun decorating the pages. Using all sorts of odds and ends in my stash.

The PEACH page
I was particularly pleased how this page turned out. I added lots of little rhinestone Bling.

The GREEN page
The American Crafts - Dear Lizzy - Lucky Charm papers are lovely to use.

The YELLOW Page
The last page of the album. I used lots of ribbons, wool and fibres for the tags that fitted into the pockets.

The COVERS - front and back
This is how I decorated the inside covers of the album.

One more of the outside of the little house.  I was able to ask someone to make me the little dowel pegs for the front of the bird house.

The flowers I made using quilling papers.

Here are two video clips I made. The first is an introduction and the second shows you a bit more detail.
