Get better Lizzy - Card in a box Card

How is your Sunday going? I'm off flying today, going off to Kuala Lumpur for work this week. So missing out on any Sunday Morning lie-in!

Today's card was one I made for someone here in our village who has been very poorly. It is one of those "Card in a box" cards.

Here it is:

I made the card base using a sheet of Kaisercraft Scarlet red weave 12 x 12 card stock. I cut this using a template using Robert Adams All occasions dies/templates multi-buy. I have made this type of card before see HERE. I listed a couple of websites at the end of my blog posting showing the way to cut your card to make this type of card if you don't have this template and matching die.

I used a mixture of Cottage Cutz dies and Heartfelt Creations Berry Cafe Collection, Stamps and dies for the decoration.

This is how the card folds flat and goes into an envelope. The little motif on the outside is from a Spellbinders ironwork motif die.

Here I took a photo from the top of the card so you can see the "bridges" that hold the embellishments.

Here's a close up of the three "bridges" from the front. I love the little bees from Heartfelt Creations.

Here you can see the side panels. I used GRAPHIC 45 Secret Garden paper to cut the lattice pieces which I glued to the red flaps.

I hand wrote a message on the front flap and added a Cottage Cutz strawberry.

On the very back of the card I hand wrote another message in white using a Signo pen. I cut the background out of a scrap of black card stock using a Spellbinders oval die.

It's a really pretty card and the photos don't really do it justice!

A Bird House for Tiffany's Birthday

Hi everyone, I hope this blog finds you well. I promised to let you see the project that I made for Tiffany's birthday - also a Bird House, but a very different style. Again HUGE thanks to Laura Denison for the idea and Inspiration.

Here it is. A Wonderful Bird House. Made using chipboard and covered in Graphic 45 Secret Garden Papers.

I have heaps of photos to show you as well as a couple of videos.

Again, the little peg at the front was made by a local carpenter who is very skilled on the lathe, he made a few for me.

I took a few pictures of the outside of the Bird House to give you an idea of how I decorated it. These purple flowers were taken from a very cheap artificial flower that I found at Spotlight which looks much better once it is broken apart.

You get a great view of the fabulous G45 paper here. The pink flowers I made using quilling techniques, the Orange large flower was a Petaloo pack where you can make flowers from a small kit.

I used an old whale of a punch flower and some Spellbinders Foliage leaves, and the Anemone Flower Topper die S5-067.

I photographed four of the five tags that go inside the bird house. There is a huge amount of "real estate" for photos. These fold in half and slot inside the house.

I used some of the spare pieces of paper I have in my stash.

I used a mixture of flowers that I made and others that were shop bought. Organza ribbon added a nice touch to each of the tags.

Another view of the bird House. The fence I made using Lollipop sticks which I painted white using Kaisercraft white paint. I also added a little more chipboard across the sticks which I glued to the Lollipop sticks to keep them in place.

A Garden Wedding Card

Thanks for stopping by again, I promised to post a card today.

I was asked to make a Wedding card for two people who will have their wedding in a garden. I decided that I would use Graphic 45's Secret Garden papers and that led me to make the card I did.

Here it is:

It is a front step card.
I used Kaisercraft Lilac weave cardstock as the base and G45 Secret Garden Beautiful Blooms Design Paper.

The stamps are from Just rite stampers:
The Kindness Cling set - CL-02095 and the Classic Scallop Borders One Clear set CR-03625.

The central medallion was stamped using versamark ink and then heat embossing with white opaque embossing powder.

The sentiment was made by cutting up a gold peel off to fit inside the centre circle. I used dimensional foam pads to adhere the two layers together.

I used drop pearls from my stash ( I think I got these on e-bay) with little spacers (from spotlight) and stitched these on with very thin bead thread (also available from Spotlight).
I added the spacers with a little strong clear drying glue. (3M Scotch Glue).

A closer view of the Gold Wedding ring embellishments - I got these from a cake decorating shop, however I found them cheaper from the link I have provided below in the ingredients list from New Zealand.

I just love this charm from My2Angels. I have had it for ages because I love it so much and didn't want to use it - however felt this card was a perfect use for it.

Another cake decorating piece, this time cake toppers of a Bride and Groom. They come attached to Tooth Picks. I just cut these off and glued them with string glue. (I bought these at Spotlight in their baking and cake decorating department).

This is a tag that I cut from Graphic 45 Secret Garden May Flowers Design Paper. I added it to the back of the card as a writing panel, onto which I added a "Congratulations" peel off.
