Hi again, how're you? As promised here is the second of my card commissions. I was so excited yesterday when I handed all three of these cards over to their commissioners, and got to see their immediate reactions and get such lovely feedback.
This was particularly the case for the card I'll show you today - for Elaine.
Here it is . . .
It is a side step card and is 91/2" high x 8" wide.
The card base was made by using Kaiser Craft Card Grape and Liquorice Weave card stock.I glued two sheets together of the Grape card stock to make the base piece of card 19" x8". Then I created the side steps of 11/2", 21/2", and 51/2" using my Scor-pal..
The Design Paper is also from Kaiser Craft - Timeless Collection Music sheet.
I made panels with the Liquorice and Music DP and covered the large side panel on the left as well as the three steps on the right.
So the card is ready for the fun stuff. The "Bling" and Embellishments.
THE MAIN PANEL ON THE LEFT
Firstly I used JustRite stamps - Musical Notes Labels Twenty and layered three of the stamps together using different coloured Marvy Stamp ink pads. I cut them out using Spellbinders Labels Twenty Dies S5-026.
The smallest image I covered with Diamond Glaze to create an enamelled effect.
I stuck a few decorative feathers into the layers to add some additional impact.
The letter E is also a Kaiser Craft Alpha Product, which I added to the remainder of the recipients name "E-laine" (produced on my computer).
The Flowers and Butterflies are from a Hero Arts and Sizzix set of matching stamps and dies. I coloured them with a range of Copics and used ClearSnap Glitter and glue.
SIDE STEP PANELS ON THE RIGHT
The back and largest step, I stuck a decoupaged image of an Upright Piano on this step. Elaine plays this so it was an important feature of her card. I googled the image, printed 2 copies and fussy cut them out. I layered them on top of each other with foam pads; then added "80 Today" in gold Peel-offs.
The middle and bottom side steps; I used the word "Music" and the "Clef" note from the JustRite Musical Notes Labels Twenty stamps (with Memento Black Tuxedo Ink pad) and cut and embossed "Music" with Spellbinders Lacey Ovals S4-314 and the "Clef" with Spellbinders Classic Ovals LG S4-110, I used BV00 and BV02 to stencil some colour onto the images whilst they were still in the dies.
For the "Happy Birthday" sentiment I used JustRite Spring words stamps using Memento Rich Cocoa Ink pad on a piece of scrap Design Paper, cut out and embossed with Spellbinders Labels Twenty-Three S4-347. I layered on top of a piece of Gold Mirri Card stock also cut and embossed with this same die.
I added a few feathers to add dimension as well as a butterfly from the Hero Arts and Sizzix set of stamps and Dies.
For the back of the card I cut out panels of white Neenah solar card stock and glued them to the card with some DST.
The dies used are:
Papertryink filigree border die
Memory Box Tilda Swirl Poppy Stamps Craft Die
Spellbinders Blossom Tags & Accents S5-072
Spellbinders Ribbon Buckles S4-362
All were cut out on Kaiser Craft Grape Weave card stock and layered onto the card back with DST and foam pads.
I added a little Lilac Organza ribbon to finish off the Buckle die on the largest back panel.
