On Your Engagement - Third Commission

Hello there. Great to have you click in and read my post. I am really excited as tonight is the last sleep before we venture on our 2 month trip away in the morning at 7.00am when we get picked up and taken to the airport. I have a few cards (after this one) to share with you which I will do when I am away. I'll also add a few pictures of what we're up to and where we are when we are overseas in future Blog posts too!

The card I have ready for you today is the third of the three commissions, I promised to show you before I go. It was created for a lovely lady who has asked me to make cards for her previously. This time she needed an Engagement card for some of her great friends.

Here it is:-
Why not grab a cup of a hot beverage to partake of,  as you read on . . . why not!

This is another step card - I am obviously into this particular style of card at the moment. This card is 6" high and 8" long. The left side panel is 41/4" wide and the step panels are 33/4" wide.

I used Kaiser Craft Liquorice weave card stock for the card base and the design papers are from HOTP 12 x 12 Pizzazz Joy's Vintage papers. Once these were cut to shape and layered together it was time to add all the embellishments.

The stamps I used are fast becoming one of my favourites. They are called Feminine Charm from Flourishes. I stamped them with Memento Rich Cocoa ink pad and fussy cut them out, then coloured them with my Copics, a few small crystals from my stash and some feathers.

I created the "On Your Engagement" on my Computer and cut and embossed it with Spellbinders Fancy Tags Two S5-030, whilst still in the die I used Copic marker BV00 to add some colour to highlight the message.

I also used Heartfelt Creations Tattered Blossoms (and distressed leaves) stamps and dies for the flowers (stamping them on another sheets of paper from Joy's Vintage lilac design papers).

Having cut them out I layered different sizes together and used a brad to hold them, then used Clear Snaps BEAUTIFUL glitter and Glue to make them glisten!

I used the Flourishes stamps for the sentiment too and once stamped and trimmed stuck it to Kaiser Craft Hanging Plaque wood flourishes then highlighted with Copic BV00.

Likewise for the "If the shoe fits" quote I cut and embossed this using Spellbinders Floral Ovals S4-356.

On the back step I added one of the Kaiser Craft Mannequin wooden flourishes added a little organza lilac ribbon and a wired lilac butterfly (from my stash).

For the back of the card I added a piece of white card stock then used Spellbinders Lattice Accents S5-106 to add small frames in the corners of the writing panel.

Thanks for looking at my post.  It may be a little while before I make my next post. I will however be in Nairobi when I do catch up with you again. So until them be safe and take care.
