A Happy Birthday - in the pink!

Hello my blogging friends and family. I hope you have had a great weekend. Mine was smashing. I flew into Sydney and did a whole range of things. Frits was coming home from being in Malaysia, once he arrived we went to the Theatre and saw Cate Blanchett and Richard Roxborough in a play called "The Present". The Grandchildren and Tiffany & Jim came into Sydney too so we went for a lovely meal and then off to The Star to see the musical "Matilda" with them. A fun filled time indeed.

I had made a few cards before I was away and today I am showing you one of those:

Pretty in Pink huh?
I created the base card with American Crafts white cardstock. Then got busy weaving pink and white strips cut with Sue Wilson's weaving Die.

I used the Sue Wilson Noble ornate squares die to make the frame which I adhered with foam tape to the woven piece and cut this to the size of the frame.

In the centres I added the middle sized die of the Spellbinders labels 46 Decorative accents cut in pink, added a few pink Phinstones. Then cut a centre piece from the Spellbinders labels 46 dies. The sentiment was a freebie from a magazine subscription which I added to the central insert with a piece of ribbon from my stash. The little pink pearl hearts were from Mei Flower.

I then added opal liquid pearl around the edges of the base card and the topper.
.... and there you have it. I think it's a pretty card.

THANKS in blue and white

As I was making the card I have to show you today it reminded me of how Thankful I was for many things. One of those things was those of you who come and read my blog, so I am Thankful to all my blogging family and friends for the time they spend looking at my cards and in particular Pearl who leaves a regular comment and for those of you who have also taken the time to do so in the past. THANK YOU. This one is for all of you.....

This card almost made itself. Have you had times like that when you have been crafting? When everything just seems to come together. This was how it was for this card. I must say Sue Wilson's dies are fabulous, easy to use and they always help make such pretty cards in my view.

The biggest challenge was cutting all the striped strips from her weaving collection dies. I used American Crafts white and Cornflower Blue card stock - the blue is such a  gorgeous colour.

Then weaving them together. It took me back a number of years to when I did this as a young girl. Quite relaxing once you get going.

I cut the outside frame using the Sue Wilson Noble collection dies, adhered mounting tape behind it and then placed it over my weaving background which I cut to the shape of the frame.

I used the Sue Wilson Thanks die. It comes in two pieces so I cut the background in the blue and the sentiment die in the white coloured cardstock.

The fiddly bit was cutting up small foam squares so that the letters were raised for dimension on the top - the result I think was worth the effort.

Once I had created the card, I used the largest of the Noble collection dies to create my card base and it was a simple thing if introducing the two parts of the card to one another!

I added some flowers from my stash, twisting their wire stems around a small paintbrush to create the curls. I cut some leaves from a Spellbinders die in white and also added those too.

For the last finishing touch I added a few white pearls here and there!

I hope you liked this card. It was a joy to make and it reminded me to be more grateful for the small mercies in life and to have more gratitude for life's pleasures and pastimes.

Happy Birthday Card - with Just Rite - Just a note to say

Hello my blogging friends and family I hope you are well and have had a great day.

My husband Frits is away tomorrow for a week so today was about making sure we were in concert about how we will meet up in Sydney in a weeks time when we  will be going to the Theatre there together. He will be in KL in Malaysia, a place I really enjoy visiting to work as well. This time it is his turn to go on his own. He is all packed up and ready to go. I will drop him off in Coffs Harbour in the morning so he can catch his flight to Sydney.

Today's card is another Birthday Card in green

I began, as I have with many of my recent cards, with a piece of white American Crafts cardstock, which when folded in half created a 5.75inch squared card.

I used the Sue Wilson Noble Classic Adorned Squares and embossed a frame with three of the largest dies. On top of that frame I used the Spellbinders Labels 46 Decorative die cut in both Green and white cardstock to make the top layers.

I added a pearl in the four corners of the card which I coloured with my Copic Alcoholic markers.

I stamped the image using my Just Rite stamps with a memento tuxedo black ink pad and then coloured the image with my Copic markers.

I used a piece of Really Reasonable Ribbon on the side of the card and added my sentiment in the bottom left corner of the card, made using another Just Rite stamp.

...... and there you have it!

A Lilac and White Happy Birthday Card

Hello good people how're you doing?

I have a pretty little card to share with you today, I hope you like it too!

I began by making the base card in American Craft white cardstock. Then alternated the two colours of Lilac and White using the Spellbinders Triple Floral die (as the first matted layer) and the Labels 46 decorative elements, layering them on atop the other.

By lifting the flower petals on the die cut it created a little space that enabled a pearl to be added as the perfect thing to add to each flower.

I layered the die cuts using foam tape to add dimension and at the corners placed Creative Expressions corner pearls (Love these!).  I also added a Bo Bunny Pink Rhinestone to each corner of the base card.

I embossed the Lilac centre first and then die cut the centre again in white card stock, the piece just dropped into place over the previously embossed space. The sentiment was a JustRite stamp that I layered with cardstock and foam pads.

On the inside of the card I kept it really simple by placing the Sue Wilson expressions die cut using the same Lilac colour used in the rest of the card.
