10 Christmas Cards

Hello my blogging friends I do hope you have been keeping well. I have been busy making cards and I will shortly show you a design for 50 invitations I was asked to make to celebrate a 70th Birthday. As soon as they have been received in the post I'll show you the design here. I was also asked to make 30 Christmas cards for this lovely lady too and today's post is a selection of 10 of those that I thought you might like to see.

So in no particular order:

I used a Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder to make the strips, and added some lace threaded through with some red ribbon. (All from my stash).

I heat embossed the sentiment and trimmed the red background with some decorative scissors.

The sentiment inside the card is from Just Rite Stamps (Christmas Inner thoughts cling stamps).

I'm obviously having a Red and White session at the moment!
I used Spellbinders 2011 Heirloom Ornament dies, a swirl (sizzix) embossing folder, Spellbinders A2 Bracket Borders One, a Spellbinders oval die as well as a Spellbinders Timeless Rectangle die.

The stamps are both Just rite. Deck the halls and Inner thoughts cling.

This card was made using lots of bits and bobs I had in my stash. The Spellbinders die I used is Radiant Rectangles, the bear in the stocking is something my mother gave to me years ago and I have never found a home for it until now.
I added a couple of pearls, a little embellishment of a poinsettia again from my stash and there you have it.

Very similar to the last card, except I used a 6 x 6 Christmas paper pad as background to the few embellishment of a wreath and poinsettias that I must have had for years!!

On a roll now. You'll see some similarities to previous cards here too. I used a Waltzingmouse stamp for the central medallion coloured with Copics, Stickles and glitter.

This is such a pretty and yet simple to make card. I must say a Huge thanks to the inspiration I get from Pinterest. This may have been inspired by something i saw there. It uses a Martha Stewart Jingle bell die, Just Rite stamps (Inner thoughts) some ribbon, heat embossed gold, a Christmas pad 6 x 6 and there you have it!

This card uses Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangles dies. The image was one from my line drawings on my PInterest board which I coloured with Copics. I scored the white card using my score pad to give a little dimension to it.

The two Poinsettias at the top of the card are buttons that I bought last year at Spotlight.

I love this card, I think it's just so sweet. The cat is a digi image from Mo's Digital pencil which I coloured using my Copics.

I cut it out using a Spellbinders Grand scalloped square die.

The green background paper is from a 6 x 6 paper pad and the gold card is from a paper pack that I bought on sale at Spotlight.

The sentiment s a freebie from one of my craft magazines.

I think this Santa is really cute, no idea where I found him (sorry!) I printed him out a couple of time and decoupaged him to create some dimension. I used some HOTP design papers,a piece of blue ribbon and a gold peel off and that was the card done!

I had to do an Aussie card! I used a La La Land Digi image which I coloured using my Copics.
The Spellbinders die used in the 5 x 7 Enchanted Labels 28.

The ribbon I bought about two years ago and I can't remember where I bought it from sorry!

The little piece of holly was from one of the Christmas Kaisercraft collectible packs.

Here are the main ingredients that I used to make these cards:

Thanks so much for stopping by today to read my blog. I am off to hospital again on Wednesday 4th to have the other knee (the right one) replaced. Must say I am really looking forward to it.

A Card for Elizabeth

Hi, How are you today? Here where we live in Australia we are experiencing some hot weather. Fortunately we have (to date) not been affected by any Bush Fire; although last evening, when outside you caught the strong smell of smoke on the wind. As today has progressed the weather is changing and getting subtly cooler.

Today I have a card to show you that was commissioned for a young lady called Elizabeth who is celebrating her 6th Birthday. I had lots of fun making this card.

This is a step card.
I'll show you each of the three steps in turn. I also have a video so you get to see some more of the detail too.
The base of the card was black Kaisercraft weave card stock.

This is the back part of the card. The design was inspired by an image on a bag that contained a present for Tiffany given to her a while ago.

I used scraps of card stock for the pieces I drew, cut out and stuck together.

The background card stock was from a DCWV Bright 12 x 12 Mat card Stock Pack.

A close up of the elements I drew and cut out. The bag provided me with everything I needed, almost as a template that enabled me to draw the tree, clouds, leaves, flowers, clouds, birds, bird house .....

....  grass and the mushrooms ... everything!

The middle step of the card.
I used a Kaisercraft Bling Rhinestone letter E and mixed it up with words I printed on my computer and punched out some small flowers using a Carl 1 punch.
The background paper was from a Basics 12 x 12 pad.

The first step of the card shown here with a Mo's Digital Image (waiting for the parade) coloured with a range of Copics and a sticker from October Afternoon. I hand drew the sun and cut it out; gluing it behind the sticker.

Here is a video I took that shows this card in more detail:

UPDATE:
Some of the ingredients I used to make this card:

OK that's all folks! Hope you liked the card it was a lot of fun to do as most of it I had to hand draw and cut out - reminded me of my prime school days!
