An Accordion Birthday Card for Emelia

Hello my Blogging Family and Friends. I have been away working overseas and that has pretty much demanded most of my attention. I came home at the end of March for a few days and then was off to Malaysia for a long week. Back now for a little while. Our next work trip will most probably be to Belgrade in Serbia, leaving here the 27the May.

So, I hope you have been keeping well and have had lots of adventures. I have just a few card tucked away ready to show you and so I may as well start with those - today was the first time in my craft room for months - quite literally and I have so missed being in my crafty space! I needed to make a Birthday card for my Dad's birthday in a few days and it needs posting tomorrow to get there. I'll show that card at a later time.

For now I have a card I made for Emelia my Sister-in-laws' Granddaughter who lives in Germany, she was celebrating her 9th Birthday - here is the card I made and sent to her:

I constructed it using the ECD square accordion and doubled the size of the aperture and frame using a technique Karen Burniston describes in one of her many videos where, you in effect, just fold your cardstock in half and cut so that the fold remains inside or outside (depending on your viewpoint) of the cutting parts of the die.

I made it using some great free papers that I received with one of my card making magazines - it's a super pack of 8 x 8 inch sheets from Nitwit Collections, it also comes with a cute stamp which I also used on this card:

Here are some close up images of the panels - I have to say that most used some stickers I had in my stash!

Her's the front panel of the card. I used some great plastic candy pieces in the corners.

Here is the second panel, I used a La-La-Land Marci Digi stamp as well as the Happy Birthday stamp that came with the papers.
I used a variety of Copics to colour here.

There were a variety of stickers I used for this card - the colours just seemed to fit so well with the papers I used.

I also added a K & Co flower sticker on this panel.

Heer you can see how the accordion card works from this "aerial" view!

Here are the rest of the main ingredients that I used:

Thanks for taking a look at my blog today  I really hope it won't be as long between this and my last post until my next posting!!

A ring accordion Christmas Card

Hello good blogging friends and family. I trust all is well with you and you have enjoyed your Wednesday.
I have another Christmas card to show you.
Here it is:

I made the base of the card using an Elizabeth Craft Design die and some metallic red card stock from an American Crafts 12 x 12 card stock. I cut a circle with white card stock using the 3inch circle die from another ECD die set. Then stamped a Flourishes die in Tuexedo black ink and coloured it with my copic sketch markers. Then fussy cut the image and stuck it to the white circle die cut. I hand wrote the words and used a Deco paint pearl pen to make faux pearls around the edge.

Here is the card opened up. It shows a sentiment on the second panel and a La La Land digi stamp on the last/third panel. This too was coloured with my copics.

Here's a close up of the La La Digi image I used.
He;s really cute I think.

A Christmas Elf, 3 panel accordion Card

Hello. I hope you are having (or have had) a great day today and are looking forward to a nice weekend. The weather here is REALLY heating up and Sunday promises temperatures of mid to late 30's in Celcius. Today we had 31 degrees although there was a little wind which cooled us a little. Average temperatures for this time of year are 24 degrees. The weatherman said tonight on the news that it was the hottest November for 20 years!!

Today's card is a rectangle accordion, here it is:

Here is the front panel.
I used an Elizabeth Craft designs accordion die to make the frames.

The little elf is a La La Land Digi die that I coloured with my Copic markers.

The sentiment was stamped using a Memento black Tuxedo ink pad.

My apologies I cannot remember what the  brand of the card stock was - it probably was a kaisercraft 12 x 12 Christmas paper.

Here is the card opened out.

I used washi tape on the top and bottom of the writing panel and used a Hero Arts stamp for the sentiment.

For the last panel I used a flourishes stamp and coloured it with my Copics and I fussy cit it out.
I used an oval cut from white card stock which I had left over from another card for the background.

Here is the back of the card which I added the ECD star edges to to finish it off.

A few more (8) Christmas Cards

Hello my blogging friends and family. I hope you have had a great Christmas and that when the new year rolls in your NYE celebrations are Super, Safe and Spectacular! I also hope that 2014 also brings you all the things you wish for.

We had a quiet Christmas with friends and on New Years Day the family arrive for a few days which will be wonderful. My second new knee (Surgery 4th December) has just started to get with the program. It has been a painful journey and so different from the first. However I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and it is beginning to feel so much better. Thank you to all my well wishers for a full recovery and recuperation.

Today I have a few more Christmas cards to show you.

Here they are:

This first one I think is just so cute. Made using the Stampin' Up Owl punch and Kaisercraft Base Coat Design Papers.

The sentiment was made using JustRite Christmas Antique Labels One Stamps and matching Custom Die with memento Bamboo leaves ink pad and Copic pen.

A la-La Land Christmas Elf Digi stamp sits at the centre of this card. Behind the image I used a Spellbinders Heirloom die as well as a Swiss Dots embossing folder. The paper is from a Bo Bunny Mistletoe Collection 6 x 6 paper pad and the merry Christmas sentiment is from a sizzix decorative strip die.

Similar to the card above but on different background paper.

Yes, you've guessed it another La La Land Digi stamp, with a Flourishes stamp coloured in Copics as are all the Digi stamps!

The Ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

A simple card using a couple of Christmas dies (see links below in the ingredients list).
I used some foil design paper bought at Spotlight and cut out the oval using the Grand Ovals dies.
The design paper is from a Kaisercraft Christmas 6.5" x 6.5" paper pad.

Couldn't not show you a pop-up card. I saw this lovely idea on Pinterest and thought I'd have a go at replicating it. Here is the front of the card.
I used Sizzix embossing folder, as well as a Sizzix, Karen Burniston designed Noel Pop-up insert.

Here is the inside of the pop-up card. Using a Sizzix decorative strip die and a Spellbinders Fleur de Lis die.

Here is one of two cards that are pretty similar. White card base, Kraft card for the background, a Spellbinders Edgeability die, a spellbinders pinking die and the Hero Arts and Sizzix Reindeer stamp and Die set.

... and here is the (almost) twin version of the same design.

... and there you have it 8 more Christmas cards. Here are the main ingredients I used to make these cards.

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you have a Fantastic New Year Celebration and a very special 2014.
