Hummingbird Happy Birthday Card

Thanks for stopping by to read my blog today. Today's post shows another card I have made using the Heartfelt Creations Botanic Orchid collection.

Here is my card:

I began by using American Crafts white card stock for the base of my card. I then matted a piece of the Tanya Whelan (gorgeous) design papers with some green pastel american crafts card stock.

I then cut a piece of Silver mirror card to create the backing for my layers.

Using the silver mirror card I used the Ara Gemini die to add a little feature at the top of this layer.

I cut out a white die cut using the Heartfelt Creations Botanic Window die and laid this on top of the silver mirror card.

Then it was a case of adding these gorgeous Botanic Orchid images and the Hummingbird, which I stamped, cut out and coloured with distress inks and a water brush.

I also added some leaves using the Sue Wilson Delicate Fronds.

Then at the bottom I added a flower and leaves using the Heartfelt creations Delightful Daisies stamps and dies which I heat embossed in white and coloured using a dauber and a Memento Lulu Lavender ink pad

I then added the "Happy Birthday" sentiment which I cut out using an Elizabeth Craft designs die in silver mirror card and matted it on the same pastel green card stock I had used previously.

It looks really beautiful in "real life" far better than what I first thought it would look like!

I do hope you enjoyed looking at this card and how I made it.

Happy Birthday (Lilac Stained Glass Window Technique) Card

Hi my blogging friends and family, how are you? I hope you are looking forward to/are having a GREAT weekend. I hope to spend some time in one of my favourite places tomorrow - yep! you've guessed it - my crafting space!

Here is another of the "Stained Glass Window" technique cards I said I'd be showing you: this time a square shape using Sue Wilson Italian and Noble Collection dies.

I used American Crafts cardstock pack with white to make this card.

The central medallion was made using the Sue Wilson (Creative Expressions) Calabria die and the Spellbinders Grand Circle smallest die, then backed with clear acetate and adding Art Institute glue and glitter to the back. Once dry the beautiful colours just twinkle through the die cut. on the front.

I cut up some Pearl ribbon into little rows of three pearls, adding them at each corner of the card.

In the bottom left corner of the card I added some Lilac Tulle, a few white beaded strands and a Purple flower I made from a Prima collection of flower bits that I found in my stash.

Thanks for stopping by and reading today's post, I hope all is well wherever you are in your part of the world.

Congratulations - A Baby Girl

Hello my blogger friends. How are you? I've been busy behind the scenes, just not much evidence here on my blog to show for it. Well gradually I'll reveal what I have been working on. Mostly Christmas cards actually, and today's post provided a little relief from the Festive Season! I had such great intentions to get all sorted for my Christmas cards this year, I honestly thought I was on track ... does this happen to you??

So here is my card - it's such a cutie!

Isn't it adorable. I had so much fun making this. I mainly used Kaisercraft "Bundle of Joy" Design papers. These are so good as they have papers for boys and for girls. I'll show you all the ingredients I used to make it below as usual.

I fussy cut out the face in the heart from the papers and then stick this gorgeous fine elastic lace (from my stash) around the edges.

I also used some sheets from an old pack of papers I had which I think are crafters Block 1. The pretty pearl ribbon is from the Craft Queen Australia store. Links are below.

Kaisercraft also produce clear stamps to match their papers. This is called new arrivals in the Bundle of Joy collection. I used white embossing powder to add a little dimension.

The cardstock... yes you've guessed it is Kaisercraft Musk weave card stock. It is a lovely soft pink colour.

On the inside of the card I fussy cut the pram out although it was a sticker, I just needed it to be a little smaller.

The bunting was from the same sheet of stickers.

I fussy cut out the little girl cameo from the design paper and added it on the back of the card  - I thought it finished the card off rather nicely.

... and there you have it.

Thanks for stopping by again today. I hope you liked my card, it provides a little relief from some of the gorgeous Christmas cards that provide so much inspiration from other blogs.
