Two similar but different Cards

I cannot believe we are in March 2014! Gracious ... I have been on my travels for work, recently returned from Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. I had a super time meeting some familiar and some new faces on the TMI Malaysia team. I was looked after so well and being on my own this time I was made to feel very welcome by George Aveling his wife Poh Lan and the team. Rajes if you are reading this - thanks for signing up to Bloglovin' today.

I am now preparing to travel overseas again this time to Zambia and Kenya leaving Friday 7th, we'll get back home on 1st April. It'll be a bit of a whirlwind but again meeting new and familiar faces of our Customer there.

I needed to quickly create two cards and these are what I would like to show you now. One is for a Birthday (on the day we leave) and the other is a Thank you for a couple who will be looking after our home and our horses whilst we are away.

So here they are:

Here is the first card.
Firstly I embossed a sheet of shiny cardstock from my stash using the Spellbinders Delightful Daisy embossing folder.
I then used Pan Pastels 430.5 Magenta and 470.5 Violet which I sponged on using a Sofft oval art sponge.

By making two sets I was able to cut pieces out and layer them onto the bottom sheet to give the image more dimension.

I used a few pearls and a bit of glue to stick this cover sheet to my A5 cardstock and I was done. I did trim the card down a little as the margins looked a little large at first.

The sentiment is a Just Rite Stamp.

Just a close up of the detailing in this embossing folder. Just gorgeous. I used the fixative spray to ensure the Pan Pastel chalk didn't rub off.

.... and here's the second card.

Made in much the same way as the first. This time I used Pan Pastels 250.5 Diarylide Yellow and 640.5 Permanent Green Shade.

The sentiment is from a Flourishes stamp from the "With Gratitude" stamp set.

I decided on the Yellow and Green as it is the colours of Australian Wattle and the National Australian colours and I think the couple I ma giving this to might appreciate that!

again a close up image showing more detail of the embossing folder.

Well there you go, here are the main ingredients I used to makes these cards.

Thanks for stopping by to read my blog, apologies for the long time lag since I last left a posting. Looks like it'll be April 2014 before I am back again, so  ....
