Cascading tag Thank You Card

As soon as I saw Karen Burniston from Elizabeth Craft Designs show how to make this style of card (Cascading) on YouTube I had to have a go. It makes use of a die that you use in a totally different way than how you might use it. The Adirondack Chair!

Here's Karen's video with the technique shown:

I wanted to make a Thank You card for a UK colleague. I am there next week for a week and she is doing a whole heap of work for me so I wanted to say Thank you to her. This one is for you Hazel!

Here's the card:

Here is the front of the card!
I used some First Edition Boho Chic paper, on top of my card base made with white American craft cardstock. Then used ECD Rocky the Crab (985) and also a clear stamp from ECD called What's Up? I used black Ranger Archival ink as I find this works really well with polymer stamps - similar to Stazon but easier to clean yous tamp afterwards.

Here is the card when you open it up. I have some other pictures that take a closer look at each half of the card coming up so you can see in more detail. Here you can see how the ECD Beach Edges die was used.

I added a little anchor as a hanging charm - sorry not sure where I got this from (same goes for the compass I use on the other side).
Seam binding came from Anna's Craft Cupboard.

I cut rocky out of cardstock from Boho Chic added sticky sheet over the card before I cut him out and then glittered him with ECD Warm diamond glitter. The ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Here is the other half of the card. I added shells (they come with Rocky the Crab).
The Thank You stamp is from the creative expressions elegant sentiments clear stamp set.

Here you can see things closer, I took the photo face on so you can see the charms hanging.

Here you can see the effect when I took the shot looking down on the card. It gives the shape of the card far better than you can see from the other photos.

and finally here is the back of the card. All the tags used are from ECD Tag Pivot Die 973. It's a very versatile die that's for sure.

... if you look at the YouTube video you can see I was VERY inspired by Karen's card - as this was my first I wanted to follow the instructions as it can be fiddly until you know what you are doing. I think I might make some more of these!!

Thanks for stopping by today. If you have the dies - do have a go at making this card - it looks so effective when you put it all together.

Two Tree Pivot Christmas Cards

Hello, how are you? I hope you are enjoying your Sunday.
Today I have a couple of cards to show you that make use of the Elizabeth Craft Designs - Tree pivot die - designed by Karen Burniston.

Here's the first of the two:

I began by using some Kraft card stock for the base of the card, then used First Edition 12 x 12 Christmas Joy card stock to decorate it.

Then I used the ECD Tree pivot die to cut the pop it up shape and again added more of the same card stock to decorate the trees.

When you open the card this is the view. I used a Sue Wilson tag die for the writing panel and the sentiment is I think from a Christmas Sticker page from Echo Park

Here's what the back of the card looks like.

Here's card number two in a similar style:

This was made in exactly the same way as the first and this time I decorated the card using First Edition 12 x 12 Festive Treats card stock.

Here's the inside of the card decorated with more of the same paper/card stock.

and again the back of the card showing how the pop it up lays flat.

2 Christmas Spiral Circle Pull Cards

Hello my blogging family and friends.
I have two cards to show you that are similar but different - I've called them the Santa and Penguin versions.
I'll start with the Santa version first. Here it is:

I made the card using the ECD Spiral Circle Pull card die and I used a First Edition 12 x 12 paper pad for the base of the card as well as the page that had these figures on it which I fussy cut out. After finishing the card I decided it needed something ... then I thought to make a feature of the little nubs which hold the fold - I took another picture ... see below.

I used Candi paper brads which are made from red mirror card, they just add a little more dimension - an improvement I thought! You can see this better in the close up below.

Here's the spiral spring which I loaded with more fussy cut pressies from the card stock. I then cut a circle using a small spellbinders eyelet die and some white card stock. The green card stock is from a Kaisercraft Christmas 12 x 12 card stock pack - Christmas Tradition I think.

Here's a close up of the characters - Santa his reindeer and the Christmas Tree.

Again using the images on the card stock from First Edition card stock pad I added this little stocking to the corner of the card.

Here is the Penguin version of this card:

This is so cute - as you can see similar cut but different! BTW the sentiment is another ECD die.

Not a stocking in the corner of the card this time but a pair of mittens!

Here is the spiral circle pull mechanism on this second card.

These figures are so gorgeous - here's a close up of them.

Here are the main ingredients I used to make these cards:

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you like these two cards
