A 15th Birthday Card for Marley

I made a birthday card for our granddaughter before I left for my overseas trip, her birthday is on the 14th of October so my dearest husband Frits took it with him to pass along to her in my absence.

I can now show it to you as she has opened it already, here it is:

The colour of the card looks a little flat in the photo, in "real life" it looks a little brighter.

The checked card stock is from a Premium Edition Boho 12 x 12 paper pad and the card base is a sheet of Kaisercraft Burnt Orange weave card stock.

The Ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon and the embellishments are from K & Co Tim Coffey Birthday Stickers.

This is a Pop-Up card and I used the ECD/Karen Burniston Lorna Label die, Poppy the Owl, Props 1 die set, a Cottage Cuts Happy Birthday die and a tag die from the Spellbinders Filigree Delight die set.

I hand wrote Marley's name on the step of the Pop-Up card with the little heart that comes with Poppy.

I really like this little die from Cottage Cuts, it was a perfect size for the label behind it.

I printed the sentiment on a piece of white card stock using my computer and then cut it out with the A2 Filigree Delight tag die from Spellbinders, I inked the edges with Vintage Photo distressed ink.

At the top and bottom of the card I added a little design using the ECD Agatha Edges die. I also cut the corners using a Crop-a-dile corner cutter.

A Bevelled Striplet and Poinsettia die Christmas Card

Hello how are you? I hope your weekend is going well. I have managed to spend some time in my crafting space and feel the better for it. I always enjoy the creative process and in particular making cards - particularly if I see a tutorial I like and fancy having a go myself. I am having a Sue Wilson admiration phase at the moment. It was my sister Clare who introduced her to me and I am pleased she did.

My card today is based on one of Sue's tutorials and I decided to make this card in Christmas colours.
Here it is:

I used Sue Wilson's Bevelled Glass Striplet die cutting it twice, side by side using a sheet of Kaisercraft Scarlet weave card stock to create the background.  After it was cut out I glued a piece of white card to the back of it.  

Next I used the Sue Wilson's Innsbruck largest single oval die shape to cut out an oval in the centre of the background I had just created. 

I added foam pads to this piece and layered it onto a piece of white card stock that I had pierced with a pokey tool and a ruler designed for this technique.

I then used the central pieces of the Innsbruck Die to create the medallion out of white and more of the Kaisercraft Scarlet card stock, Once glued together I dropped the medallion into the aperture of the card gluing it in place to ensure it would be secure.

With the main background completed I added a red mat layer onto the base card itself, onto which I placed the background piece then added these beautiful red pearls into each of the four corners of the card.

I hand cut a red strip of card stock and then stamped the image using a Ranger Perfect Medium ink pad white powder and then heat embossed it. I then added glue to the edges and finally added some Cosmic Shimmer Iced Snow to the edges.

On the edge of the card I added two Petite Vinery leaves (Yes - more Sue Wilson dies) and then cut the smallest Poinsettia dies out of the same red and white coloured card stock. To finish off the flower I added a white pearl to it's centre.

A Christmas Bauble Card

Hello my blogging family and friends, I hope you are keeping well. I have returned safely from my overseas trip which went really well. My trip got extended a little as I was requested to make a diversion for few days from Las Vegas my original destination, to Montreal in Canada. I must say I love to travel and always enjoy it. There is always that special moment however when you arrive back home and have your first nights sleep in your own bed!
It took a little while for me to recover the journey and I was of course very keen to do some crafting. I have been able to do some in the evenings, although the card I have to show you now, I created before I left for my trip.

The card uses some of my Sue Wilson dies and was inspired by several of her tutorials.
Here it is:

I used  white card stock as well as a sheet of the American Crafts pastel 12 x 12 card stock sheets. I created the base by piercing the edge of one of the matted layers.

I also embossed the top layer using Sue's A4 Snowflake Lattice Embossing folder

I cut a bauble using another matching set of Sue Wilson dies. The green base I covered in a double sided sheet and then used ECD Warm Diamond glitter on top to add a little dimension.

I cut the top of the bauble using gold mirri card and then added some Really Reasonable Ribbon and lime coloured Tulle.

I used a Deco pearl pen to add the beads on the bauble.

A Spellbinders tag, a Just Rite stamp using Memento Rich Cocoa ink pad - with an Antique linen distress ink pad to ink the edges a little. Then one or two pearls.

I really like the holly leaves and white on white I think works really well.

On the inside I added a matching piece of ribbon and a Just Rite Stamp sentiment,
