A Million and One Thanks

Gracious it has been a while since I last added a post here. I hope you have been well in the meantime. Work has been pretty much full on for me, including a two week stint to Shanghai, China a first for me, and as it turned out, an amazing trip. The city is incredible and provides a home to 24 million people more than the entire population of Australia as a continent. It is a vibrant metropolis that is on the go 24/7.

I have a card to share with you today that I sent in thanks to a friend of mine in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.

Here it is:

This card was my version of the Karen Burniston (Designer and all round whizz with her Pop-it-up and other dies that she creates for ECD - Elizabeth Craft Designs) tutorial on how to use the ECD Butterfly Pivot die.


I used a MME 12 x 12 paper pad and DCWV Brights 12 x 12 card stock for the base colours for the card.

You can see I used a lovely pink gingham washi tape to add a bit of interest.

Here is the card opened fully - the one below is me holding it so you can see the triple feature that you can create using this die.

The stamp is from Technique Tuesday.

The centre butterfly fold very nicely when you close the card.

Karen Burniston provides a great tutorial on finishing the card so that no space appears where the dies cut the card.

A 50th Musical Theatre Birthday Card

Hello my Blogging family and friends. Well amost at the end of the week. For me it seems to have gone so quickly, mind you I have been really engaged working at the computer this week on a couple of really interesting projects for work.

Oval 2 panel accordion Card

Hello again, I am doing well so far this week almost a card every day. I sit here in the evening watching the News programs and add posts to my blog. I have a few cards in the pipeline to show you so hopefully I will be able to upload them to show you!

This card was a quick one to make. Here it is:

I used black kaisercraft liquorice weave 12 x 12 card stock. to make the frame, using a solver gel pen to draw the lines through the die.

I really liked the sentiment which says "Your Birthday is always a pleasure to celebrate with you, you deserve the best day ever and have all your dreams come true". I created this on my computer and cut it out with the accordion oval die in the set. 

I think the little presents die from Elizabeth Craft Designs is so cute when made up. It was fun to mix and match different scraps to make these little presents.

I used the silver gel pen to draw the little flowers on the card front.

An oval 3 panel accordion birthday card

Hello, thanks for stopping by. I hope this post finds you well and that your week has began well.
I have another accordion card to show you. I am really enjoying making them, the Elizabeth Craft Design dies designed by Karen Burniston make card making so much fun.

So here is my card, it is a 3 panel oval accordion.

I used a piece of Kaisercraft design paper as the base of my card. Then I used some DCWV bright 12 x 12 coloured card stock for the edges on the frames.

The peel off I used was one I had in my stash - like most of us, I guess, we have things we have collected over time and not used. So it was great to find a use for a peel off I have had or some time.

I have photos of each of the panels:

I used Transparent Double Sided Adhesive sheets, glitter and Copics to make and colour each of the panels.

A different image on the same peel off. Great to colour and easy to do.

I needed to add little pieces of solver tape to cover the corner edges (basically I didn't but the corners together very well!).

I have now learned to put the edge pieces together first (using little pieces of tape on the reverse) before adding glue and sticking them to the card panel.
