A Pink on Pink Flip Card

Hello my blogging friends. Two blog posts in a day. I hope they both find you happy and healthy!

Today I have a card to show you.
Here it is:

This is a simple card and uses heaps of Spellbinder dies. It was inspired by Christa Griffiths who is great at showing you how to use your Spellbinders dies to greater effect.

The card base is an A4 piece of burgundy cardstock, folded in half, and then the front of the card folded in half again so the front flap folds back on itself.

This provides the shell of the card, the next stage is all about embellishment.

The fold of the front flap enables you to position the Spellbinder Fleur de Lis Square die in the correct place.

Place the largest die of the set on the diagonal with the points of the diagonal on the fold of the flap. Cut the shape out of the card with your die cutting machine and remove from the card base. Hold this piece for later use.

Then using a pink coloured piece of cardstock cut the same die shape again. Match this pink piece of card stock to the shape and the hole left vacant by the removal of the burgundy die cut shape.

Cut a rectangle that exactly matches the size of the flap in another piece of the Burgundy card stock. Adhere this using glue or Double Sided Tape to the back of the front flap; make sure there is glue in the correct place to adhere half of the pink shape as well.

Fold the flap making sure not to fold the pink shape inside, this will provide the "Flip" feature. Cut a smaller shaped piece of Burgundy card stock using the same set of Spellbinders dies. Glue this in place on top of the pink larger shape.

Stamp out your sentiment onto even paler pink cardstock. I cut this into a rectangle shape and then used a shaper punch to round the corners. I added some liquid pearls to the little flowers I had punched with a Carl 1 Daisy punch.

Using the Spellbinders Asian Accents cut two corner embellishments in pink cardstock and again decorate with oval white liquid pearls.

On the inside of the card I added two mats. The first a pale pink lightly patterned paper with a 1/4 inch edge.
On top of that I added a pink piece of cardstock that I embossed with a Spellbinders Mystic M-Bossibility embossing folder.

In the centre add the piece of Burgundy cardstock you cut from the front flap of the card base. Line it up with the image on the front of the card before adhering.

Cut a smaller shaped piece of Pink cardstock using the same set of Spellbinders dies. Glue this in place on top of the Burgundy larger shape.

Add a sentiment using foam pads at the top of the shape.

At the bottom right edge of the card add a flower made with the middle sized die from Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms Die. Apply glue and sprinkle glitter over the flower. Cut some leaves from the Spellbinders Foliage Dies and also the foliage from Spellbinders Asian Accents. More liquid pearls at the top and bottom right corners.

Here you have a view of the card when it is opened fully ...

... and there you have it!
