Hello! How are you? I hope you had a Grand Christmas and that your New Year Celebrations were great fun. I haven't posted for a while simply because I have been making cards but can't show them yet because the recipients might see or be told they are here!
I might be safe with this card for Lucy who will be 7 next week. Her mum asked me to make her a card and as she had seen Caitlin's card she wanted something similar for Lucy. So what follows is what I made for her daughter Lucy. I also made a short video for those who like a bit more "hands on" detail. Hopefully this time the video is the right way up!!!! Apologies it's quite a long posting so grab a cup of your favourite beverage and enjoy!
Here is the box that hold the card made from a large sheet of card purchased at office works.
I used a HOTP Tile Book (which I have had for ages) for the name.
The little Cup cakes are from a sticker sheet from K& Company and the gorgeous ribbon is from The Frantic Stamper.
This image shows you the front of the box which is from a Tim Coffey (K&Co) 12 x 12 paper sheet which I decoupaged.
Next we get to open the box and see the card inside.
... and here is the card. I used Kaisercraft Candy Weave Cardstock for the base of the card. Then scraps of yellow, blue and green card which I distressed with an Tim Holtz Ranger Distress Ink Pad - Vintage Photo. The images are from Tim Coffey (K&Co) embossed Happy Birthday Stickers.
The ribbon on the side was from Really Reasonable Ribbon.
Before we look inside, let's look at the outside of the card when it is fully opened up.
The spine has two Brads (from my stash) and matches the tiles used on the front of the box.
The back page has a wooden alphabet letter painted with White paint and decorated with plum coloured pearls (all Kaisercraft supplies).
The lovely Flourish is a Sizzix die.
OK so lets turn the card over so you get to see the full layout of the inside of the card.
Here is the panel on the left side of the card in more detail. I used 5 of the Annie Lang's Journaling Pockets (HOTP 3117).
Here are the little pockets in more detail.
Here are the individual tags that go in the pockets. I wrote little messages on the front and back of each.
Here is the concertina box on the right panel of the card. It's full of little tags which I'll show next.
On the sides I used beaded pearl hearts, 7 candle stickers and some pearls.
The little box was made from different coloured cardstock scraps to give it a little colour to match the rest of the card.
Here are the tags that I placed inside, all had little sayings or questions on them for Lucy to complete.
Inside the box I put a Kaiser Craft (I loooooove their products - can you tell????) Rhinestone Bling letter L.
Next I'll show you a couple of images showing the detail of the concertina style box.
This may give you a better view of the inside of the box.

This is definitely your best yet! Must have taken ages and what a lovely keepsake, I bet Lucy will love this. I thought the tag idea was brilliant, well done.
