Cream and Gold Step Card

Hello how are you? I hope your Saturday is going well. I will be flying back home today from Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. Frits is with me as he was working in Melbourne on Friday so we get to travel home together from Sydney.

My card today is one I saw one of the Design Team from Creative Expressions make and this is my version of it.

Here it is:

I cut out the card base as per the design from the Creative Expressions blog  - see here for the step-by-step INSTRUCTIONS.

I used the Sue Wilson Floral Meadow Striplet on the four parts of the card - front and back on the side steps of the card.

I made the central panel using more of the cream card and used a sticky backed sheet on it so that when I die cut it I could glitter it with Diamond Snow afterwards.

I cut the same striplet die from gold mirror card, removed the little flowers by cutting them out, shaping them and then gluing them into their place on the cream striplet die cut.

Here's the view from the top of the card so you can see front and back at the same time.

I then added a piece of 6mm wide yellow ribbon from my stash, made it into a bow and then added a beaded button after I removed the shank on the back with wire cutters.

UPDATE - 24th JULY 2016!!!

As requested here is the measurements and folding template  for when you use an A3 sheet of cardstock. You can download this image by right clicking on it.

I didn't put a sentiment on the card yet as I am undecided whether it a great card for a Birthday, Anniversary, Wedding or something else. What do you think?

The main ingredients that I used to make this card:

Thanks for stopping by today and taking a look at this post.

  2. Hi Pearl, thank you. I am glad I have been able to post some of the cards I have been making. It is harder to do when I am traveling for work. I have amended my posting to add a template showing the dimensions needed when using a sheet of A3 cardstock. A3 is better for this card so you don't have folds in places you don't want them. I bought my cream Quill cardstock at Office works here in Australia. You will need a striplet type of die - Sue Wilson has many designs - to make this type of card. The instructions are included in this posting, you can download the originals as a PDF as did I. I'll make sure the link is more clearly defined. It is a lovely card!
